Gummy Bears

These homemade gummy bears are a fun and colorful way to enjoy your favorite juices. Using agar-agar as a plant-based gelling agent, they are naturally vegan and can be sweetened to taste. Perfect for kids, lunchboxes, or a playful snack at any time of day.

Ingredients


  • 1 cup (240 ml) fruit juice

  • 2 tsp agar-agar

  • Optional: 1 tsp agave syrup

Instructions

  1. Use your choice of fruit or vegetable juice. If using fruit juice, you may not need additional sweetener.


  2. Add the agar-agar and agave syrup to the juice and stir well to avoid lumps.


  3. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.


  4. Using a dropper, quickly transfer the thickened mixture into small silicone molds. Work quickly, as the mixture will start to set.


  5. Let the gummy bears cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then remove them from the molds.


  6. Store in an airtight container and enjoy.
