Chickpea tofu is a simple plant-based alternative to traditional tofu. Made from chickpea flour and water, it sets into a firm block that can be baked, fried, or used in your favorite recipes. It’s mild in flavor and packed with protein, making it ideal for both savory dishes and snacks.

Ingredients
3/4 cup (90 g) chickpea flour
1/2 cup (120 ml) water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1½ cups (360 ml) water
Instructions
Line a rectangular dish with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, salt, turmeric, and 1/2 cup water. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
Bring 1½ cups of water to a boil in a deep saucepan. Gradually add the chickpea mixture while stirring continuously. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring regularly until thickened.
Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and smooth the surface. Let cool briefly, then cover and refrigerate overnight to set.
Use it like regular tofu. For a crispy texture, bake or pan-fry before serving.
